Dr. Radia SIA is Founder, President of CLEVER OPERATION S.A.S. and Senior Scientist. Radia obtained her Ph.D. in Experimental High Energy Physics - Radiation Detection (Nuclear Measurement) Instrumentation from Syracuse University in New York USA. She has a strong expertise in innovative technologies at the interface of public research, academia, industry, stakeholders and decision makers. Radia is a fund-sourcing expert with an extensive network, an innovative provider of management support to organizations, companies and firms. She is a serial entrepreneur, startup founder and a philanthropist.
Radia held various positions in the US and Europe within world-class institutions and collaborations that are at the leading edge in their fields such as: Syracuse Univesity (New York USA) in collaboration with the European Center for Nuclear Research (CERN in Geneva Switzerland), Fermi National Laboratory (Chicago IL) and Cornell University (Ithaca NY); Radiation Monitoring Devices (RMD) Inc., member of Dynasil Corp. of America, a global leader of radiation detection materials and leader of the US Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program; ORANO, a world leader in nuclear power and renewable energy solutions; and the UNITED NATIONS where she was responsible for fund-sourcing at the interface of Science & Diplomacy aiming at harnessing the power of science, technology, research and innovation to address some of the critical global challenges in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Radia has an extensive experience in souring and managing funds from public and private institutions in partnership with public research organizations and insitutions, stakeholders, decision and policy makers...She has deep knowledge of funding instruments, processes and current global trends and expectations for different purposes: R&D and Innovation, training and networking, knowledge transfer, Science, Technology and Engineering (STEM)... She initiated, established and led tens of innovative multi-disciplinary projects and programs in order to develop innovative solutions for different needs and applications in the sectors of Research, Health/Medical physics, Energy and Aerospace, Defense and HomeLand Security, involving a large number of academic, research and industrial partners. She conducted these efforts at the different levels: strategic, technical, contractual, financial, resources as well as internal/external national/international interfaces (partners, donors and funding bodies, subcontractors and consultants). Examples include projects for the US-NIH (National institute of Health), DHS (Department of Homeland Security), DoD (Department of Defense), DTRA (Defense Threat Reduction Agency), NASA, DOE (Department of Energy), NSF (National Science Foundation), development banks...
Radia has a strong expertise, and about two decades of experience, in radiation measurement instrumentation techniques, technologies, applications and markets and on the different aspects (hardware and software): detector/sensor design, simulation, development, characterization, critical design review and implementation of corrective actions and exploitation, validation, commissioning and exploitation. She is the principal author of over 30 peer-reviewed articles and co-author of more than 170 articles. She was invited speaker at several prestigious conferences and workshops worldwide. Currently, she focuses on creating value through the valorization of research as needed to address concrete industrial and technological challenges as well as promoting women leadership.
